Buddha's hand and foot Hand colored, Signed, Numbered and Framed by Karl.

$250.00

11 X 17 colored pencil on 100# paper Hand colored, Signed, Numbered and Framed by Karl.

The representation of Buddha's hands are known as Mudras (Sanskrit word for sign/hand gestures) Every Mudra has both an outer/symbolic and an inner/experiential function, for it communicates at once, both to the person who performs them and to the observer, aspects of the enlightened mind. It also re-directs energy flow throughout the body.

The footprints of Buddha are meant to remind us that Buddha was present on earth and left a spiritual path to be followed. The path from an-iconic to iconic which starts at symbols like the wheel and moves to statues of Buddha. His footprints are special, as they are the only artifacts that give Buddha a physical presence on earth as they are actual depressions in the earth.
