Laying in the Forest of Yggdrasil NEW..

$35.00

I was reading about the Anishinaabe, the Native American clans or dodem (The word dodem means "the heart or core of a person.") Often an animal is used to represent a person's clan (but plants and other spirit beings are sometimes used as well). There I found The Mshiikenh (Turtle) represents Nbwaakaawin (Wisdom) that according to the Anishinaabeg culture is to cherish knowledge and to know wisdom. Wisdom is given by the Creator to be used for the good of the people. This Spirit Being expresses not only "wisdom" but also means "prudence," or "intelligence.

I was also studying Norse mythology as well at the same time. There the Turtle of the world in myth the entire world is a tree, called Yggdrasil (“igg-dreh-sell”) located at the center of the universe. According to the legends, is a gargantuan living ash tree with branches extending above the heavens and a trunk strongly latched into the ground by three great roots. The mighty tree whose trunk rises at the center of the Norse spiritual cosmos. The rest of that cosmos arrayed around it is held together by its branches and roots, which connect the various parts of the cosmos to one another. Because of this, the well-being of the cosmos depends on the well-being of Yggdrasil. When the tree trembles, it signals the arrival of Ragnarok.

Combining the stories in my head, I envisioned this piece in my tree mural above where I rest. I love trees.
